...building a FUTURE through education and skills training.

SCHOOLS FOR IMPOVERISHED VILLAGES

Though the generosity of donors, KBR was able to provide these rural children with a building and school supplies. To date, we have built three schools in Battambang, two in Koh Kong, two in Oudar Meanchey, and one each in Kampong Chhnang and Preah Vihear provinces.

Construction of school in Koh Kong 2004 costing $3000 for the building, desks and chairs. Other smaller schools cost as little as $1000.

SEWING SCHOOL

One of two sewing schools opened and operated by KBR in Battambang for impoverished young women. This one is located beneath a home, the other at a local pagoda.

Each sewing machine costs $53. Classes are 6 hours per day, 5 days a week, for 8 months. Each student is given $10 per month and, upon graduation, a sewing machine.

COMPUTER SKILLS TRAINING and ENGLISH LANGUAGE CLASSES

Computer school at Nuonmonyram Pagoda in Phnom Penh used to train monks and poor high school students. KBR also set up and opened an English class at the pagoda in 2004.
