2005

From May 9th to June 30th of 2005, the Venerable Mahanoeun traveled across Cambodia to oversee various KBR projects.

With the help of donors, so far in 2005 we have passed out over 30 tons of rice, constructed over 70 wells and reservoirs, begun construction on 3 schools, built 3 homes, and are continuing our sewing, English and computer classes.

wells and reservoirs

Over 70 new wells and reservoirs have been constructed so far in 2005 in the following provinces: Oudar Meanchey, Pursat, Prey Veng, Preah Vihear, Kampong Cham, Kampong Speu, Kampong Thom, Kampot, Svay Rieng, and Takeo.

KBR commission of reservoirs benefits a village in three ways: it provides jobs to villagers, it provides them with food as they are paid in rice for their labor, and ultimately it provides a much needed water supply.

schools

Three schools are under construction: two in Oudar Meanchey at a total cost of $4000, and one in Preah Vihear at a cost of $3000. Ten new students have begun sewing class.

homes

Three homes were built: one for a blind woman, one for a homeless impoverished family, and one for an elderly single woman.
